Countdowns - with Widget App Reviews

Nice app - but relying on the terribly unreliable iCloud sync is simply unfathomable and unacceptable. Furthermore, the OSX widget does not reflect changes I made on anothjer device until I open the app on my mac. Not good. :(

Pros — Clean, simple, highly legible interface — Ability to track multiple events — Ability to use date or date/time as needed — Notifications Integration — Seemless integration with my iOS devices. Suggestion — Would love the icon to have a badge with the days to the next event. Summary - Does just what I need, and well worth the $0.99 to unlock the unlimited date range functionality.

Free version only counts down within 30 days - worthless

A simple, good looking App but the calculation is wrong. If i make a new entry for tomorrow morning the countdown is 1 day and 16h instead of 0 days and 16h. Please fix this, then I will buy the premium version!

It doesn’t allow me to set dates in December. Everything else works well.

Please add an option to view the time in weeks, not only in days.

2015 does not work, last date you can set is 17.12.2014 Please fix

Seriously? Even entering a date did not work. was not able to enter the month may into the date field. jumped from 4 (april) back to 1 (january)

Thanks for the latest update. Countdowns still works very well and I am totally satisfied.

when you add countdowns with titles of various lengths, the app starts to look unsymmetrical and unappealing. this can be fixed by the developers if they make the font of the titles smaller and center them on the vertical axis. it would be nice if they could add a preferences section to the app too, giving us options like font size at least, as then i can make all my titles into 1 liners and have everything fit nice and snug, thus quenching my OCD. I hope the developers can follow through with some of these minor alterations in an update, as it would make this notification app look perfect, its already in high demand for any student with multiple deadlines. I’ll change this review if an update is released to 5 stars!

I love the simplicity and functionality of this app. It does countdowns in a simple & clean way which is just what I was looking for. That being said, it has some small issues with displaying countdowns in the correct order and getting the app to sync properly with the widget in Notification Center, but since the app seems to be getting updated frequently and the developer is quick to respond to feedback, I’m confident these issues will get fixed soon. Looking forwards to the fixes plus syncing between the Mac and iOS apps :)

I tried to put a countdown date for April and it wouldn’t allow me to do it. It kept on chiming for an error. I deleted it right away.

Just bought the app, and after adding my first countdown beyond the free 30 day limit, I decided to edit the title using the "countdowns" app on OSX. Now its in an endless loop of dialogue boxes that say "The operation couldnt be completed (Cocoa error 1555)". When you click OK it says "Could not save changes while quitting. Quit anyway?", which when you click Quick anyway it goes back to the first error. And round and round it goes Martin Stemmle, youre listed as the developer. These sort of issues are forgivable for a free app, but youre charging money, and the field for Notification Center Apps is small right now so I cant buy something else. Id suggest fixing this asap before the name "Stemmle" becomes synonymous with "being ripped off by an incompetent developer". Cmon Marty, you can fix this! Ill update my rating if this is fixed fast.

Whenever I exit the application or no longer have the Notification Centre active, the application erases my countdowns.

This app has no time zone support. This may seem minor, but it shows a fundamental lack of programming skill, as Apple’s APIs easily allow developers to take such things into account. Most likely this person is from a non-Apple background and not willing to learn.

Can you add an option to automaticaly remove events that have passed? Also improving the sync feature so as to not require opening the app on every device to update the widget data would be nice

The notification center widget looks really terrible and nowhere close to the screen shot shown on the store. The font is too big and the left margin/padding is too thick.
